(a) In the notation of Proposition 19 (no. 10), suppose that there exist two A[X]A[X]-linear mappings g1,g2g_1, g_2 of M[X]M[X] into M′[X]M'[X] such that ψ′∘g2=g1∘ψ\psi' \circ g_2 = g_1 \circ \psi; show that there then exists an A[X]A[X]-linear mapping gg of MuM_u into Mu′M'_u, such that ϕ′∘g1=ϕ′∘gˉ\phi' \circ g_1 = \phi' \circ \bar{g}. Further, if g1g_1 and g2g_2 are A[X]A[X]-isomorphisms of M[X]M[X] onto M′[X]M'[X], gg is an A[X]A[X]-isomorphism of MuM_u onto Mu′M'_u.

(b) In the notation of no. 10, the endomorphisms u,u′u, u' are called equivalent if there exist two isomorphisms f1,f2f_1, f_2 of MM onto MM such that u′∘f2=f1∘uu' \circ f_2 = f_1 \circ u; they are called similar if there exists an isomorphism ff of MM onto M′M' such that u′∘f=f∘uu' \circ f = f \circ u. Deduce from (a) that, for uu and u′u' to be similar, it is necessary and sufficient that the endomorphisms X−uˉX - \bar{u} and X−uˉ′X - \bar{u}' (of the A[X]A[X]-modules M[X]M[X] and M′[X]M'[X] respectively) be equivalent.
