Algebra, IV, p. 87

Suppose that the additive group of AA contains an infinite subgroup GG whose non-zero elements are not divisors of zero in AA. Show that the mapping f↦f~f \mapsto \tilde{f} of A[X1,…,Xp]A[X_1, \ldots, X_p] into the algebra of mappings of ApA^p into AA is injective (observe that a polynomial of degree nn in one indeterminate cannot have more than nn distinct roots lying in GG). This holds in particular when there is in AA an element xx, not a divisor of 00 and of infinite order in the additive group of AA.
