Algebra, V, p. 146

Let AA be an algebra of finite degree over a commutative field KK, where AA is not assumed unital. Show that if a∈Aa \in A is cancellable on the left, then there exists e∈Ae \in A such that ex=xex = x for all x∈Ax \in A and there exists b∈Ab \in A with ab=eab = e. If aa is also cancellable on the right, ee is the unit element of AA and aa is invertible in AA. The case of commutative AA.
