Topological Vector Spaces, I

For every real number α>0\alpha > 0, let GαG_\alpha be the topological group R/αZ\mathbf{R}/\alpha \mathbf{Z}, and let GG be the topological product group ∏αGα\prod_\alpha G_\alpha (α\alpha varying in the set of number >0> 0). For every x∈Rx \in \mathbf{R}, let tα(x)t_\alpha(x) be the canonical image of xx in GαG_\alpha; the mapping ϕ:x→(tα(x))\phi : x \to (t_\alpha(x)) is a continuous injective homomorphism of R\mathbf{R} in GG. We consider on R\mathbf{R} the topology that is the inverse image by ϕ\phi of that of GG, and denote by EE the topological group formed by R\mathbf{R} with this topology. Show that when EE is considered as a vector space over R\mathbf{R} its topology satisfies (EVT'_I) and (EVT'_II) but not (EVT'_III).
