Topological Vector Spaces, II, p. 81

Let XX be a compact convex set in a Hausdorff locally convex space EE. Let uu be a lower semi-continuous convex function in XX and vv an upper semi-continuous concave function in XX such that u(x)>v(x)u(x) > v(x) for all x∈Xx \in X. Then there exists an affine linear function ff that is continuous in EE and such that v(x)<f(x)<u(x)v(x) < f(x) < u(x) for all x∈Xx \in X.
