Exercise 7, § 5

Topological Vector Spaces, II, p. 77

In a Hausdorff locally convex space EE, let AA be a complete, convex set and let BB be a precompact closed convex set such that A∩B=∅A \cap B = \varnothing. Show that there exists a closed hyperplane separating A from B (argue in the completion E^\hat{E}). Consider the case when A is finite dimensional.
