It is set in small type as supplementary.

Let XX be the compact interval [0,1][0, 1] of R\mathbf{R} and Φ\Phi the set formed from the continuous real valued functions defined in XX and the functions t↦∣t−a∣−αt \mapsto |t - a|^{-\alpha}, where a∈Xa \in X and 0<α<10 < \alpha < 1 (we put 0−α=+∞0^{-\alpha} = + \infty for α>0\alpha > 0). In the space M(X)\mathscr{M}(X) of measures on XX, let MΦ+\mathscr{M}_\Phi^+ be the set of the measures μ≥0\mu \geq 0 such that all the functions of Φ\Phi are μ\mu-integrable. a) Give MΦ+\mathscr{M}_\Phi^+ the uniform structure induced by the product structure of RΦ\mathbf{R}^\Phi. Show that MΦ+\mathscr{M}_\Phi^+ is a proper convex complete cone for this uniform structure. (Note that for every function f∈Φf \in \Phi there exists g∈Φg \in \Phi such that, for all ε>0\varepsilon > 0, there exists u∈C(X;R)u \in \mathscr{C}(X; \mathbf{R}) such that 0≤f−u≤εg0 \leq f - u \leq \varepsilon g.) b) Show that the cone MΦ+\mathscr{M}_\Phi^+ has no extremal generator. (Observe that if μ∈MΦ+\mu \in \mathscr{M}_\Phi^+, then all the measures λ\lambda such that 0≤λ≤μ0 \leq \lambda \leq \mu belong to MΦ+\mathscr{M}_\Phi^+.) c) Show that the set SS of the μ∈MΦ+\mu \in \mathscr{M}_\Phi^+ such that μ(1)=1\mu(1) = 1 is a sole of the cone MΦ+\mathscr{M}_\Phi^+ and a simplex in RΦ\mathbf{R}^\Phi (II, p. 71, exerc. 41). \*
