Topological Vector Spaces, V, p. 65

Let EE be a finite dimensional complex vector space, and let ϕ\phi be a bijective semi-linear (relative to the automorphism ξ↦ξ‾\xi \mapsto \overline{\xi} of C\mathbf{C}) mapping from EE onto its dual E∗E^*. Let ∥x∥\|x\| be a norm on EE such that, for all x∈Ex \in E, we have ∣⟨x,ϕ(x)⟩∣=∥x∥⋅∥ϕ(x)∥|\langle x, \phi(x) \rangle| = \|x\| \cdot \|\phi(x)\|. Show that (y,x)↦⟨x,ϕ(y)⟩(y, x) \mapsto \langle x, \phi(y) \rangle is, up to a constant factor, a positive separating hermitian form and that ⟨x,ϕ(x)⟩=γ∥x∥2\langle x, \phi(x) \rangle = \gamma \|x\|^2 (γ\gamma constant). (Argue as in exerc. 20.)
