Functions of a Real Variable, I, 45

a) Let HH be a set of convex functions on a compact interval [a,b]⊂R[a, b] \subset \mathbf{R}; suppose that the sets H(a)H(a) and H(b)H(b) are bounded above in R\mathbf{R} and that there exists a point cc such that a<c<ba < c < b and that H(c)H(c) is bounded below in R\mathbf{R}; show that HH is an equicontinuous set on ]a,b[]a, b[ (Gen. Top., X, p. 283)

b) Let HH be a set of convex functions on an interval I⊂RI \subset \mathbf{R}, and let F~\tilde{\mathscr{F}} be a filter on HH which converges pointwise on II to a function f0f_0; show that F~\tilde{\mathscr{F}} converges uniformly to f0f_0 on every compact interval contained in II.
