Functions of a Real Variable, I, 47

Let ff be a differentiable real function on an open interval I⊂RI \subset \mathbf{R}. Suppose that for every pair (a,b)(a, b) of points of II such that a<ba < b there exists a unique point c∈]a,b[c \in ]a, b[ such that f(b)−f(a)=(b−a)f′(c)f(b) - f(a) = (b - a)f'(c); show that ff is strictly convex on II or strictly concave on II (show that f′f' is strictly monotone on II).
