Functions of a Real Variable, IV, 204

Let E be a complete normed space over R\mathbf{R}, F a topological space, J an interval of R\mathbf{R} not reducing to a single point; let (t,ξ)↦A(t,ξ)(t, \xi) \mapsto A(t, \xi) be a map from J×FJ \times F into L(E)\mathscr{L}(E), such that when ξ\xi tends to ξ0\xi_0, A(t,ξ)A(t, \xi) tends uniformly to A(t,ξ0)A(t, \xi_0) in J. If C(t,t0,ξ)C(t, t_0, \xi) is the resolvent of the linear equation dx/dt=A(t,ξ).xd\mathbf{x}/dt = A(t, \xi).\mathbf{x} show that, for every compact interval K⊂JK \subset J, C(t,t0,ξ)C(t, t_0, \xi) tends uniformly to C(t,t0,ξ0)C(t, t_0, \xi_0) on K×KK \times K as ξ\xi tends to ξ0\xi_0.
