Integration, V, p. 105

Let p,qp, q be two conjugate exponents. If BB (resp. CC) is a bounded subset of LpL^p (resp. LqL^q), show that the mapping of B×CB \times C into L1L^1, deduced from (f,g)↦fg(f, g) \mapsto fg by passage to quotients, is not necessarily continuous when Lp,LqL^p, L^q and L1L^1 are equipped with the topologies σ(Lp,Lq)\sigma(L^p, L^q), σ(Lq,Lp)\sigma(L^q, L^p) and σ(L1,L∞)\sigma(L^1, L^\infty), respectively (cf. Exer 10).
