Exercise 27, § 5

Integration, V, p. 106

Let X be a locally compact space, Λ:t↦λt\Lambda : t \mapsto \lambda_t a scalarly essentially μ\mu-integrable mapping of T into M+(X)\mathscr{M}_+(X). Suppose that Λ\Lambda is pre-adequate for every measure φK⋅μ\varphi_K \cdot \mu, where K is compact.

a) Show that Λ\Lambda is pre-adequate for every measure φA⋅μ\varphi_A \cdot \mu, where A is a μ\mu-measurable subset of T (consider the compact subsets of A).

b) Show that Λ\Lambda is pre-adequate for every measure f⋅μf \cdot \mu, where ff is positive, μ\mu-measurable, and takes on only finitely many values.

c) Show that Λ\Lambda is pre-adequate for every measure f⋅μf \cdot \mu, where ff is μ\mu-measurable, between 0 and 1. From this, deduce that Λ\Lambda is μ\mu-adequate.
