Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, II, 179

Suppose that K is a Q\mathbf{Q}-algebra. Let gg be a Lie algebra admitting a K-basis and let U be its enveloping bigebra with the canonical filtration (Un)n≥0(U_n)_{n \geq 0}. Let x∈U+x \in U^+ and let n be an integer ≥1\geq 1. Show that xx belongs to Un+U_n^+ if and only if c+(x)c^+(x) belongs to ∑i+j=ni,j≥1Im(Ui+⊗Uj+)\sum_{i+j=n \atop i,j \geq 1} \mathrm{Im}(U_i^+ \otimes U_j^+).
