Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, III, 376

Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.

(a) Let K = R\mathbf{R} or C\mathbf{C} or an ultrametric field with residue field of characteristic > 0. Let G be a Lie group over K, U an open neighbourhood of 0 in L(G) and ϕ:U→G\phi : U \to G a mapping which is differentiable at 0 and such that ϕ(0)=e, T0(ϕ)=IdL(G)\phi(0) = e,\ T_0(\phi) = \mathrm{Id}_{L(G)} and ϕ((λ+λ′)b)=ϕ(λb)ϕ(λ′b)\phi((\lambda + \lambda')b) = \phi(\lambda b)\phi(\lambda'b) for λb, λ′b, (λ+λ′)b\lambda b,\ \lambda'b,\ (\lambda + \lambda')b in UU. Then ϕ\phi coincides on a neighbourhood of 0 with an exponential mapping.

(b) Let kk be a field of characteristic 0. Let KK be the valued field k((X))k((X)), which is of characteristic 0. Let GG be the additive Lie group k[[X]]k[[X]]. Let ϕ\phi be the continuous kk-linear mapping of GG into GG such that ϕ(Xn)=Xn+X2n\phi(X^n) = X^n + X^{2n} for every integer n⩾0n \geqslant 0. Then ϕ\phi satisfies the conditions of (a), but coincides on no neighbourhood of 0 with an exponential mapping.
