Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, VII, 61

Assume that kk is algebraically closed. Let g\mathfrak{g} be a Lie algebra, h\mathfrak{h} a Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}, and A a subset of g\mathfrak{g}. Assume that A is dense in g\mathfrak{g} (in the Zariski topology) and stable under Aute(g)_e(\mathfrak{g}). Show that A∩hA\cap \mathfrak{h} is dense in h\mathfrak{h}. (Let X be the closure of A∩hA\cap \mathfrak{h}, and U=hU =\mathfrak{h}-- X. Assume that U≠∅U\not=\emptyset. With the notations in Lemma 2, the image under F of U×gλ1(h)×⋯×gλp(h)U\times \mathfrak{g}^{\lambda_1}(\mathfrak{h})\times \cdots \times \mathfrak{g}^{\lambda_p}(\mathfrak{h}) contains a non-empty open subset of g\mathfrak{g}. Since this image is contained in g\mathfrak{g}-- A, this contradicts the fact that A is dense in g.\mathfrak{g}.)
