Let λ∈k\lambda \in k, let Z(λ)Z(\lambda ) be a vector space having a basis (en)(e_n), with n=0,1,..n= 0,1, . .., and let X+,X−,HX_+, X_-, H be the endomorphisms of Z(λ)Z(\lambda ) defined by formulas (2) of Prop. 1.

a) Verify that this gives an s\mathfrak{s}-module structure on Z(λ)Z(\lambda ).

b) Assume that λ\lambda is not an integer ≥0\geq 0. Show that the s\mathfrak{s}-module Z(λ)Z(\lambda ) is simple.

c) Assume that λ\lambda is an integer ≥0\geq 0. Let Z′Z' be the subspace of Z(λ)Z(\lambda ) generated by the en,n>λe_n,n > \lambda. Show that Z′Z' is an s\mathfrak{s}-submodule of Z(λ)Z(\lambda ), isomorphic to Z(−λ−2)Z(-\lambda -2), and that the quotient Z(λ)/Z′Z(\lambda )/Z' is isomorphic to the simple s\mathfrak{s}-module V(λ)V(\lambda ). Show that the only s\mathfrak{s}-submodules of Z(λ)Z(\lambda ) are 0,Z′0,Z' and Z(λ)Z(\lambda ).
