Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.

Let h\mathfrak{h} be a splitting Cartan subalgebra of g,A\mathfrak{g}, A a subset of h\mathfrak{h}, and s∈s\in Aut(g\mathfrak{g}) such that sA=AsA = A. Show that there exists t∈t\in Aut(g,h\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{h}) such that t∣A=s∣At|A =s|A and ts−1∈ts^{-1}\in Aute(g)_e(\mathfrak{g}). (Let a\mathfrak{a} be the commutant of A in g\mathfrak{g}; this is a reductive subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}, of which shs\mathfrak{h} and h\mathfrak{h} are splitting Cartan subalgebras; deduce the existence of u∈u\in Aute(a)_e(\mathfrak{a}) such that ush=hus\mathfrak{h}=\mathfrak{h}; show that there exists v∈v\in Aute(g)_e(\mathfrak{g}) extending uu such that v∣A=v|A = IdA_A; take t=vs.t=vs.) Deduce that, if s∈s\in Aut0(g)_0(\mathfrak{g}), there exists w∈W(R)w\in W(R) such that w∣A=s∣Aw|A =s|A.
