Let ω∈P++\omega \in P_{++}; denote by S(ω)S(\omega ) the set of weights of E(ω)E(\omega ), in other words the smallest R-saturated subset of P containing ω\omega (Prop. 5). If λ∈S(ω)\lambda \in S(\omega ), we have λ≡ω\lambda \equiv \omega (mod. Q). Conversely, let λ∈P\lambda \in P be such that λ≡ω\lambda \equiv \omega (mod. Q); prove the equivalence of the following properties: (i) λ∈S(ω)\lambda \in S(\omega );

(ii) ω−wλ∈Q+\omega -w\lambda \in Q_+ for all w∈Ww\in W;

(iii) λ\lambda belongs to the convex hull of W.ωW.\omega in hR∗\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{R}}.

(To prove that (iii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (ii), remark that ω−wω\omega -w\omega is a linear combination of elements of R+R_+ with coefficients ≥0\geq 0; deduce, by convexity, that ω−wλ\omega -w\lambda has the same property; since ω−wλ\omega -w\lambda belongs to Q, this implies that ω−wλ∈Q+\omega -w\lambda \in Q_+. To prove that (ii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (i), choose ww such that wλ∈P++w\lambda \in P_{++}, and apply Cor. 2 of Prop. 3. The implication (i) =⇒=\Rightarrow (iii) is immediate.)
