Exercise 16, § 9
General Topology, I, 145
Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.
Let be a topological space and a subset of . A point is said to be a condensation point of if every neighbourhood of contains an uncountable infinity of points of .
a) The set of condensation points of a subset of is closed. Give an example in which has only one condensation point (cf. no. 8, Theorem 4).
b) Suppose is an accessible space in which every open subspace is Lindelöf (Exercise 15). Show that for every subset of , the set of condensation points of is perfect, and that is countable.
