General Topology, III

Let (xmn)(x_{mn}) be a double sequence of points of a Hausdorff commutative group GG, satisfying the following conditions : (a) The series defined by the sequence (xmn)n∈N(x_{mn})_{n \in \mathbf{N}} is convergent for each m≥0m \geq 0; let ymy_m be its sum. (b) If we put rmn=∑p=n∞xmpr_{mn} = \sum_{p=n}^{\infty} x_{mp}, then the series defined by the sequence (rmn)m∈N(r_{mn})_{m \in \mathbf{N}} is convergent for each n≥0n \geq 0; let tnt_n be its sum.

Show that for each n≥0n \geq 0 the series defined by the sequence (xmn)m∈N(x_{mn})_{m \in \mathbf{N}} is convergent, and let znz_n be its sum. The series whose general term is ymy_m has the same sum as the series whose general term is znz_n if and only if tnt_n tends to 00 as nn tends to infinity.
