Exercise 20, § 5

General Topology, IX

Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.

Let ff be a homeomorphism of a subset AA of a complete metric space XX onto a subset A′A' of a complete metric space X′X'. Show that there exists an extension fˉ\bar{f} of ff to a set BB which is a countable intersection of open sets in XX, such that ff is a homeomorphism of BB onto a set B′B' which is a countable intersection of open sets in X′X' (apply Exercise 19 to ff and to the inverse homeomorphism gg).
