Algebra, VIII, p. 11, § 1. Artinian Modules and Noetherian Modules

The ring A[X]σ,dA[X]_{\sigma ,d} has the following universal property: given a ring A′A', a ring homomorphism f:A→A′f: A\rightarrow A', and an element xx of A′A' such that xf(a)=f(σ(a))x+f(d(a))xf(a) =f(\sigma (a))x+f(d(a)) for every a∈Aa\in A, there exists a unique ring homomorphism g:A[X]σ,d→A′g: A[X]_{\sigma ,d}\rightarrow A' that extends ff and maps X onto xx.

The uniqueness is clear. Let us therefore show that the mapping g:A[X]σ,d→A′g: A[X]_{\sigma ,d}\rightarrow A' defined by g(∑anXn)=∑f(an)xng(\sum a_nX^n) =\sum f(a_n)x^n has the required properties. It extends ff, maps X onto xx, and is a group homomorphism. We have g(1)=1g(1) = 1. For a∈Aa\in A and Q=∑anXnQ =\sum a_nX^n in A[X]σ,dA[X]_{\sigma ,d}, we have

g(aQ)=g(∑aanXn)=∑f(aan)xn=f(a)∑f(an)xn=g(a)g(Q) g(aQ) =g(\sum aa_nX^n)=\sum f(aa_n)x^n=f(a)\sum f(a_n)x_n=g(a)g(Q)

as well as

gg(XQ) =g(∑(σ(an)Xn+1+d(an)Xn))=g(\sum (\sigma (a_n)X^{n+1}+d(a_n)X^n))

=∑(f(σ(an))xn+1+f(d(an))xn)=x∑f(an)xn=g(X)g(Q) =\sum(f(\sigma (a_n))x^{n+1}+f(d(a_n))x^n) =x\sum f(a_n)x^n=g(X)g(Q)

It follows that we have g(P)g(Q)=gg(P)g(Q) =g(PQ) for P,QP,Q in A[X]σ,dA[X]_{\sigma ,d} and therefore that gg is a ring homomorphism.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
