Algebra, VIII, p. 122, § 7. Simple Rings
Let K be an algebraically closed commutative field, and let A be an algebra of finite degree over K. The algebra A is simple if and only if there exists an integer such that A is isomorphic to . Its center is then isomorphic to K.
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
