Algebra, VIII, p. 159, § 9. Radical

We keep the assumptions of Theorem 2. Furthermore, let M′M' be an A-module and u:M′→Mu: M'\rightarrow M be a homomorphism. If the homomorphism u‾\overline{u} from M′/aM′M'/\mathfrak{a}M' to M/aMM/\mathfrak{a}M deduced from uu by passing to the quotients is surjective, then uu is surjective.

It suffices to apply Theorem 2 to the image N of u:u: indeed, the image of u‾\overline{u} is (N+aM)/aM(N +\mathfrak{a}M)/\mathfrak{a}M, so u‾\overline{u} is surjective if and only if we have N+aM=MN +\mathfrak{a}M = M.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
