Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VII, § 5. Decomposable linear Lie algebras

Let g\mathfrak{g} be a Lie subalgebra of gl(V)\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}(V). The following conditions are equivalent:

(i) g\mathfrak{g} is decomposable;

(ii) every Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g} is decomposable;

(iii) g\mathfrak{g} has a decomposable Cartan subalgebra;

(iv) the radical of g\mathfrak{g} is decomposable.

(i) =⇒=\Rightarrow (ii): This follows from Cor. 2 of Prop. 3.

(ii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (i): This follows from Cor. 1 of Th. 1, since g\mathfrak{g} is generated by its Cartan subalgebras (§2, no. 3, Cor. 3 of Th. 1).

(ii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (iii): This is clear.

(iii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (ii): By Cor. 3 of Th. 1, we can assume that kk is algebraically closed. The Cartan subalgebras of g\mathfrak{g} are then conjugate under the elementary automorphisms of g(\mathfrak{g}(§3, no. 2, Th. 1); in view of Remark 1 of §3, no. 1, it follows that, if one of these is decomposable, they all are.

(i) =⇒=\Rightarrow (iv): This follows from Cor. 2 of Prop. 4.

(iv) =⇒=\Rightarrow (i): Assume that the radical r\mathfrak{r} of g\mathfrak{g} is decomposable. Let s\mathfrak{s} be a Levi subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}; it is decomposable (Prop. 2). Hence g=s+r\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{s}+\mathfrak{r} is decomposable (Cor. 1 of Th. 1).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
