Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 1. The Lie algebra sl(2, k) and its representations

In the enveloping algebra of sl(2,k)\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}(2, k),

[H,X+n]=2nX+n[H,X−n]=−2nX−n [H, X_+^n] = 2nX_+^n[H, X_-^n] =-2nX_-^n

for any integer n≥0n\geq 0, and

[X−,X+n]=nX+n−1(H+n−1)=n(H−n+1)X+n−1 [X_-, X_+^n] =nX_+^{n-1}(H+n-1) =n(H-n+ 1)X_+^{n-1}
[X+,X−n]=nX−n−1(−H+n−1)=n(−H−n+1)X−n−1 [X_+, X_-^n] =nX_-^{n-1}(-H+n-1) =n(-H-n+ 1)X_-^{n-1}

if n>0n >0.

The first and third relations follow from Lemma 1. The others can be deduced from them by using the canonical involution of sl(2,k)\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}(2, k).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
