Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 2. Root system of a split semi-simple Lie algebra

If hQ\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbf{Q}} (resp. hQ∗\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{Q}}) denotes the Q\mathbf{Q}-vector subspace of h\mathfrak{h} (resp. h∗\mathfrak{h}^*) generated by the HαH_{\alpha} (resp. the α\alpha ), where α∈R\alpha \in R, then h\mathfrak{h} (resp. h∗\mathfrak{h}^*) can be identified canonically with hQ⊗Qk\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbf{Q}}\otimes_{\mathbf{Q}}k (resp. with hQ∗⊗Qk\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{Q}}\otimes_{\mathbf{Q}}k) and hQ∗\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{Q}} can be identified with the dual of hQ\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbf{Q}} (Chap. VI, §1, no. 1, Prop. 1). We call hQ\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbf{Q}} and hQ∗\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{Q}} the canonical Q\mathbf{Q}-structures on h\mathfrak{h} and h∗(\mathfrak{h}^*(Algebra, Chap. II, §8, no. 1, Def. 1). When we mention Q\mathbf{Q}-rationality for a vector subspace of h\mathfrak{h}, for a linear form on h\mathfrak{h}, etc., we shall mean these structures, unless we indicate otherwise. When we mention Weyl chambers, or facets, of R(g,h)R(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{h}), we shall work in hQ⊗QR\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbf{Q}}\otimes_{\mathbf{Q}}\mathbf{R} or hQ∗⊗QR\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{Q}}\otimes_{\mathbf{Q}}\mathbf{R}, that we shall denote by hR\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbf{R}} and hR∗\mathfrak{h}^*_{\mathbf{R}}.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
