Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, VIII, 235

Assume that g\mathfrak{g} is splittable. Let B(g)B(\mathfrak{g}) be the canonical basis of the canonical Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g} (no. 3, Remark 2). If s∈s\in Aut(g\mathfrak{g}),s,s induces a permutation of B(g)B(\mathfrak{g}); denote by sgn(ss) the sign of this permutation. Show that ss operates on ⋀ng\bigwedge^n\mathfrak{g} (with n=n= dim g\mathfrak{g}) by

x→x \rightarrow sgn(ss).x.x.
