Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 7. Finite dimensional modules over a split semi-simple Lie algebra

Let λ∈P\lambda \in P, and X\mathscr{X} the smallest R-saturated subset of P containing λ\lambda. Choose a norm ∥⋅∥\| \cdot \| as in Prop. 5. The following conditions are equivalent:

(i) X=W.λ\mathscr{X}= W.\lambda;

(ii) all the elements of X\mathscr{X} have the same norm;

(iii) for all α∈R\alpha \in R, we have λ(Hα)∈{0,1,−1}\lambda (H_{\alpha})\in \{0,1,-1\}.

Every non-empty R-saturated subset of P contains an element λ\lambda satisfying the above conditions.

Introduce the condition:

(ii′') for all α∈R\alpha \in R and for every integer tt between 0 and λ(Hα)\lambda (H_{\alpha}),

∥λ−tα∥≥∥λ∥ \|\lambda -t\alpha \| \geq \|\lambda \|

(i) =⇒=\Rightarrow (ii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (ii′'):: This is clear.

(ii′') =⇒=\Rightarrow (iii): Assume that condition (ii′') is satisfied. Let α∈R\alpha \in R. We have ∥λ∥=∥λ−λ(Hα)α∥\|\lambda \|=\|\lambda -\lambda (H_{\alpha})\alpha \|, so ∥λ−tα∥<∥λ∥\|\lambda -t\alpha \|<\|\lambda \| for every integer tt strictly between 0 and λ(Hα)\lambda (H_{\alpha}); hence, there can be no such integers, so ∣λ(Hα)∣≤1|\lambda (H_{\alpha})| \leq 1.

(iii) =⇒=\Rightarrow (i): Assume that condition (iii) is satisfied. Let w∈Ww\in W and α∈R\alpha \in R. Then (wλ)(Hα)=λ(Hw−1α)∈{0,1,−1}(w\lambda )(H_{\alpha}) =\lambda (H_{w^{-1}\alpha})\in \{0,1,-1\}; thus, if tt is an integer between 0 and (wλ)(Hα),wλ−tα(w\lambda )(H_{\alpha}),w\lambda -t\alpha is equal to wλw\lambda or sα(wλ)s_{\alpha}(w\lambda ). This proves that W.λW.\lambda is R-saturated, so X=W.λ\mathscr{X}= W.\lambda.

Let Y\mathscr{Y} be a non-empty R-saturated subset of P. There exists in Y\mathscr{Y} an element λ\lambda of minimum norm. It is clear that λ\lambda satisfies condition (ii′'), hence the last assertion of the proposition.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
