Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 7. Finite dimensional modules over a split semi-simple Lie algebra

Assume that g\mathfrak{g} is simple. Denote by α1,...,αl\alpha_1, . . . , \alpha_l the elements of B. Let ϖ1,...,ϖl\varpi_1, . . . , \varpi_l be the corresponding fundamental weights. Let HH = n1Hα1+⋯+nlHαln_1H_{\alpha_1}+\cdots +n_lH_{\alpha_l} be the highest root of R∨R^{\vee}, and J the set of i∈{1,...,l}i\in \{1, . . . , l\} such that ni=1n_i= 1. Let λ∈P++\lambda \in P_{++} -- {0}\{0\}. Then conditions (i), (ii) and (iii) of Prop. 6 are equivalent to each of the following conditions:

(v) λ(H)=1\lambda (H) = 1;

(vi) there exists i∈Ji\in J such that λ=ϖi\lambda =\varpi_i.

The ϖi\varpi_i, for i∈Ji\in J, form a system of representatives in P(R) of the non-zero elements of P(R)/Q(R)P(R)/Q(R).

Let λ=u1ϖ1+⋯+ulϖl\lambda =u_1\varpi_1+\cdots +u_l\varpi_l, where u1,...,ulu_1, . . . , u_l are integers ≥0\geq 0 and not all zero. Then λ(H)=u1n1+⋯+ulnl\lambda (H) =u_1n_1+\cdots +u_ln_l and n1≥1,...,nl≥1n_1\geq 1, . . . , n_l\geq 1, which gives the equivalence of (v) and (vi) immediately. On the other hand, λ(H)=\lambda (H) = supα∈R+λ(Hα)_{\alpha\in R_+}\lambda (H_{\alpha}), and λ(H)>0\lambda (H)>0 since λ\lambda is a non-zero element of P++P_{++}. Hence

condition (v) is equivalent to the condition λ(Hα)∈{0,1}\lambda (H_{\alpha})\in \{0,1\} for all α∈R\alpha \in R, in other words to condition (iii) of Prop. 6.

The last assertion of the proposition follows from Chap. VI, §2, no. 3, Cor. of Prop. 6.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
