Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 9. The formula of Hermann Weyl

Let M be a finite dimensional simple g\mathfrak{g}-module, and λ\lambda its highest weight. Then

(∑w∈Wε(w)ewρ)(\sum_{w\in W}\varepsilon (w)e^{w\rho}).ch M=∑w∈Wε(w)ew(λ+ρ)M =\sum_{w\in W}\varepsilon (w)e^{w(\lambda+\rho)}.

With the notations of Lemma 3, the central character of M is χλ(\chi_{\lambda}(§6, no. 4, Prop. 7). Hence, by Lemmas 2 and 3,d3,d.ch M is a Z\mathbf{Z}-linear combination of the eμ+ρe^{\mu+\rho} such that

μ+ρ∈W(λ+ρ) \mu+\rho \in W(\lambda +\rho )

On the other hand, by §7, no. 7, Lemma 7,d7,d.ch M is anti-invariant, and its unique maximal term is eλ+ρe^{\lambda+\rho}, hence the theorem.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
