Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 12. Chevalley orders

Let α∈R\alpha \in R. If x∈G∩gαx\in \mathscr{G}\cap \mathfrak{g}^{\alpha} and n∈Nn\in \mathbf{N}, we have x(n)∈Ux^{(n)}\in \mathscr{U}, and (ad xx)n/n^n/n! leaves G\mathscr{G} and U\mathscr{U} stable.

This is clear if α∈B\alpha \in B, by construction of U\mathscr{U} and Cor. 1. In the general case, there exists w∈Ww\in W such that w(α)∈Bw(\alpha )\in B (Chap. VI, §1, no. 5, Prop. 15). By Cor. 2, there exists an automorphism φ\varphi of g\mathfrak{g} that leaves G\mathscr{G} and U\mathscr{U} stable and takes gα\mathfrak{g}^{\alpha} to gw(α)\mathfrak{g}^{w(\alpha)}, hence the corollary by transport of structure.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
