Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, VIII, 270

Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.

Let g\mathfrak{g} be an absolutely simple Lie algebra of type BlB_l (resp. Cl,DlC_l,D_l), with l≥2l\geq 2 (resp. l≥3,l≥4l\geq 3, l\geq 4). Assume further that, when g\mathfrak{g} is of type D4D_4, the image of the homomorphism π:\pi : Gal(k‾/k\overline{k}/k)→\rightarrow Aut( R‾,B‾\overline{R},\overline{B}) defined in Exerc. 8 of §5 is of order ≤2\leq 2. Show that there exists a central simple algebra D of dimension (2l+1)2(2l+ 1)^2 (resp. 4l2,4l24l^2,4l^2) and an involutive anti-automorphism σ\sigma of D such that g\mathfrak{g} is isomorphic to the Lie subalgebra of D consisting of the elements xx such that σ(x)=−x\sigma (x) =-x and TrD(x)=0_D(x) = 0 (same method as in Exerc. 16a16a)).22).^{22}
