Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 6. Integration on compact Lie groups

Let H be a (real) Lie group of dimension m,hm,\mathfrak{h} its Lie algebra. Let ωH\omega_H be a right-invariant differential form of degree mm on H, and let ωh\omega_{\mathfrak{h}} be the translation-invariant differential form on h\mathfrak{h}, of degree mm, that coincides with ωH(e)\omega_H(e) at the origin. We have

(expH_H)∗ωH=λhωh^*\omega_H=\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}}\omega_{\mathfrak{h}} (10)

where λh\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}} is the Ad(H)-invariant function on h\mathfrak{h} such that

λh(x)=\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}}(x) = det ∑(p+\sum(p+ 1)!1 (ad xx)p^p for x∈hx\in \mathfrak{h}.

p≥0p\geq 0

Let x,x1,...,xmx, x_1, . . . , x_m be elements of h\mathfrak{h}. We have

(exp∗ωH^*\omega_H)x(x1,...,xm)=(ωH_x(x_1, . . . , x_m) = (\omega_H(exp xx))(Tx(T_x(exp)(x1x_1),...,Tx, . . . ,T_x(exp)(xmx_m)). Denote by ϖ(x):h→h\varpi (x) :\mathfrak{h}\rightarrow \mathfrak{h} the right differential of the exponential at xx (Chap. III, §3, no. 17, Def. 8); by definition,

TxT_x(exp)(yy).(exp xx)−1=ϖ(x).y^{-1}=\varpi (x).y for all y∈hy\in \mathfrak{h}.

The form ωH\omega_H being right invariant, we obtain

(ωH(\omega_H(exp xx))(Tx(T_x(exp)(x1x_1),...,Tx, . . . ,T_x(exp)(xmx_m))

=ωH(e)(ϖ(x).x1,...,ϖ(x).xm)==\omega_H(e)(\varpi (x).x_1, . . . , \varpi (x).x_m) = (det ϖ(x)\varpi (x))ωh(x1,...,xm)\omega_{\mathfrak{h}}(x_1, . . . , x_m);

thus, exp∗ωH=λhωh^*\omega_H=\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}}\omega_{\mathfrak{h}}, with λh(x)=\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}}(x) = det ϖ(x)=\varpi (x) = detexpadx−1adx\frac{exp ad x-1}{ad x} (Chap. III, §6, no. 4, Prop. 12).

Let h∈Hh\in H; since Ad hh is an automorphism of h\mathfrak{h}, we have

ad ((Ad hh)(x)(x)) == Ad h∘h\circ Adx∘x\circ (Ad hh)−1^{-1},

so λh\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}}((Ad hh)(x)(x)) =λh(x)=\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}}(x). Thus, the function λh\lambda_{\mathfrak{h}} is invariant under Ad(H); this completes the proof of the proposition.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
