Topologie algébrique, chapter III, § 5. Homotopie et revêtements (cas des espaces localement connexes par arcs)
Let E and be coverings of B.
a) Let be a B-morphism. The mapping derived from is compatible with the operations of on and respectively. It is bijective if and only if is an isomorphism.
b) The mapping is a bijection of the set of B-morphisms from E into onto the set of -morphisms from into .
If is a B-morphism from E into , the mapping is a -morphism (cf. III, p. 305). Moreover, two B-morphisms from E into which coincide on the fibre are equal (I, p. 80, cor. 3 of prop. 6).
Let be a morphism of -sets; let us prove that there exists a B-morphism of E into such that . We may suppose that the spaces E and are connected and non-empty, so that and are homogeneous -sets. Let be a point of ; its stabilizer G is the image of the mapping (III, p. 305, Theorem 1). Since the mapping is a -morphism, the group G fixes the point of , and is therefore contained in the image of the mapping . By Prop. 1 of III, p. 308, there exists a B-morphism of E into such that . The mappings and are -morphisms of the homogeneous -set into which agree at the point ; they are therefore equal.
If is a B-isomorphism, the mapping is bijective. Conversely, suppose that the mapping is bijective, and let E be a B-morphism such that . The B-morphism induces on the identical mapping; it therefore follows from the proposition that Id. Analogously, Id, which proves that is a B-isomorphism.
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
