Théories spectrales, chapter I, § 2. Algèbres normées

Let A be a normed algebra. For a∈Aa\in A, denote by γa\boldsymbol{\gamma }_a and δa\boldsymbol{\delta }_a the mappings x↦axx\mapsto ax, and x↦xax\mapsto xa from A into A. The mapping γ:a↦γa\boldsymbol{\gamma }:a\mapsto \boldsymbol{\gamma }_a is a representation of A in A, called the left regular representation of A. The mapping δ:a↦δa\boldsymbol{\delta }:a\mapsto \boldsymbol{\delta }_a is a representation of the opposite algebra of A in A, called the right regular representation of A.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
