Théories spectrales, chapter I, § 2. Algèbres normées

Let A be a normed algebra over C\mathbf{C}. If A is a field, then A=C⋅1A =\mathbf{C}\cdot 1.

If x∈Ax\in A, there exists λ∈C\lambda \in \mathbf{C} such that x−λx-\lambda is not invertible (cor. 1), whence x−λ=0x-\lambda = 0 and x∈C⋅1x\in \mathbf{C}\cdot 1.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
