Théories spectrales, chapter I, § 6. Algèbres stellaires

Let A be a commutative unital star algebra.

a) There exists a compact topological space X such that A is isomorphic to the star algebra C(X)\mathscr{C}(X);

b) Let B be a commutative unital star algebra. The mapping π↦X(π)\pi \mapsto \mathsf{X}(\pi ) is a bijection of the set of unital morphisms of star algebras A→BA\rightarrow B onto the set of continuous mappings of X(B)\mathsf{X}(B) into X(A)\mathsf{X}(A).

This follows from the foregoing and from prop. 4 of I, p. 35.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
