Théories spectrales, chapter III, § 1. Applications linéaires compactes

Let E be a topological vector space and F a separated topological vector space. A linear mapping uu from E into F is said to be compact if there exists a neighbourhood V of 0 in E such that u(V)u(V) is a relatively compact subset of F.

We denote by Lc(E;F)\mathscr{L}^c(E; F) the set of compact linear mappings from E into F; we also denote by Lc(F)\mathscr{L}^c(F) the set Lc(F;F)\mathscr{L}^c(F; F).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
