Théories spectrales, chapter III, § 3. Endomorphismes de Fredholm et endomorphismes de Riesz

Let E and F be separated locally convex spaces, u:E→Fu: E\rightarrow F a Fredholm mapping, and u^:E^→F^\widehat{u}:\widehat{E}\rightarrow \widehat{F} the extension of uu to the completions. Then u^\widehat{u} is a Fredholm mapping and we have Ker(u^\widehat{u}) == Ker(uu) and ind(u^\widehat{u}) == ind(uu).

Let us adopt the notation of condition (iv) of Prop. 2 of III, p. 42. Since the vector spaces E2E_2 and F2F_2 are finite-dimensional, they are complete. The completion of E1E_1 (resp. F1F_1) is identified with the closure of E1E_1 in E^\widehat{E} (resp. of F1F_1 in F^\widehat{F}), and E^\widehat{E} (resp. F^\widehat{F}) is the topological direct sum of E^1\widehat{E}_1 and E2E_2 (resp. F^1\widehat{F}_1 and F2F_2). The linear mapping u^\widehat{u} defines by restriction an isomorphism of E^1\widehat{E}_1 onto F^1\widehat{F}_1 and vanishes on E2E_2. The proposition then follows from implication (iv)⇒\Rightarrow(i) of loc. cit.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
