Théories spectrales, chapter III, § 5. Perturbation par une application linéaire compacte

Let λ∈K\lambda \in K.

a) The sets FλF_{\lambda} and GλG_{\lambda} are finite-dimensional vector subspaces of C(X;K)\mathscr{C}(X; K) and their dimensions are equal ;

b) In order that equation (3) have at least one solution f∈C(X,K)f\in \mathscr{C}(X,K), it is necessary and sufficient that one have ∫Xa(x)g(x)dμ(x)=0\int_Xa(x)g(x)d\mu(x) = 0 for every function g∈Gλg\in G_{\lambda}. The set of solutions of (3) is then an affine subspace of C(X;K)\mathscr{C}(X; K) with direction FλF_{\lambda};

c) One of the following conditions, which exclude each other, is satisfied :

(i) For every function a∈C(X;K)a\in \mathscr{C}(X; K), there exists a unique

solution f∈C(X;K)f\in \mathscr{C}(X; K) of the integral equation (3) ;

(ii) The homogeneous equation (4) possesses a nonzero solution

f∈C(X;K) f\in \mathscr{C}(X; K)

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
