Théories spectrales, chapter III, § 6. Propriétés spectrales des endomorphismes des espaces de Banach

Let E be a complete normable space over R\mathbf{R}. Let C be a total salient closed convex cone in E and u∈L(E)u\in \mathscr{L}(E) a compact linear mapping such that u(C)⊂Cu(C)\subset C. If the spectral radius ϱ(u)\varrho (u) of uu is >0>0, then ϱ(tu)=ϱ(u)\varrho (^tu) =\varrho (u) is an eigenvalue of tu^tu, and tu^tu admits an eigenvector corresponding to ϱ(u)\varrho (u) in C∘C^{\circ}.

One has ϱ(tu)=ϱ(u)\varrho (^tu) =\varrho (u) (prop. 3 of I, p. 131). By Corollary 1 of III, p. 9, the endomorphism tu^tu of E′E' is compact. Moreover, one has tu(C∘)⊂C∘^tu(C^{\circ})\subset C^{\circ}; the assertion then follows from the Krein-Rutman theorem applied to tu^tu, and to the closed convex cone C∘C^{\circ}, since the latter is salient (because C is total) and total (because C is salient).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
