Théories spectrales, chapter IV, § 3. Distributions et distributions tempérées

The dual space of D(U)\mathscr{D}(U), endowed with the topology of bounded convergence, is called the space of distributions on U. It is denoted by D′(U)\mathscr{D}'(U).

A distribution on U is therefore a continuous linear form on D(U)\mathscr{D}(U).

If ff is a linear form on D(U)\mathscr{D}(U) (and in particular if ff is a distribution) and if φ\varphi belongs to D\mathscr{D}(U), we shall denote by ⟨f,φ⟩\langle f, \varphi \rangle the value of ff at φ\varphi.

Since D(U)\mathscr{D}(U) is bornological, the space D′(U)\mathscr{D}'(U) is complete (EVT, III, p. 24, cor. 1). Since D(U)\mathscr{D}(U) is a Montel space, the same is true of D′(U)\mathscr{D}'(U) (EVT, IV, p. 19, prop. 9). In particular, the space D′(U)\mathscr{D}'(U) is reflexive (EVT, IV, p. 16, th. 2).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
