Théories spectrales, chapter IV, § 3. Distributions et distributions tempérées

The transpose of the Fourier transform on S(Rn)\mathscr{S}(\mathbf{R}^n) (resp. of the Fourier cotransform) is called the Fourier transform (resp. Fourier cotransform) on S′(Rn)\mathscr{S}'(\mathbf{R}^n).

The notation F\mathscr{F} (resp. F‾\overline{\mathscr{F}}) is again used for the Fourier transform (resp. the Fourier cotransform) on S′(Rn)\mathscr{S}'(\mathbf{R}^n). The Fourier transform on S′(Rn)\mathscr{S}'(\mathbf{R}^n) is therefore an automorphism of topological vector spaces whose inverse is the Fourier cotransform. For every f∈S′(Rn)f\in \mathscr{S}'(\mathbf{R}^n), the tempered distribution F(f)\mathscr{F}(f) (resp. F‾(f)\overline{\mathscr{F}}(f)) is defined by the formula

⟨F(f),φ⟩=⟨f,F(φ)⟩(\langle \mathscr{F}(f), \varphi \rangle =\langle f,\mathscr{F}(\varphi )\rangle (resp. ⟨F‾(f),φ⟩=⟨f,F‾(φ)⟩)\langle \overline{\mathscr{F}}(f), \varphi \rangle =\langle f,\overline{\mathscr{F}}(\varphi )\rangle )

for every φ∈S(Rn)\varphi \in \mathscr{S}(\mathbf{R}^n).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
