Spectral Theories, IV, p. 341
Let n and m be integers, and let U⊂Rn and V⊂Rm be open. (a) There exists a unique injective linear mapping u from D(U)⊗D(V) into D(U×V) such that u(φ⊗ψ) is the function (x,y)↦φ(x)ψ(y) for all (φ,ψ)∈D(U)×D(V). Moreover, the image of u is dense in D(U×V). We identify the space D(U)⊗D(V) with a subspace of D(U×V) by means of the mapping u.
(b) For all distributions f on U and g on V, there exists a unique distribution f⊗g on U×V such that ⟨f⊗g,φ⊗ψ⟩=⟨f,φ⟩⟨g,ψ⟩ for all (φ,ψ)∈D(U)×D(V).
(c) Let f∈D(U) and g∈D(V). For every η∈D(U×V) and every x∈U, let us denote by ηx the mapping y↦η(x,y). We have ηx∈D(V) and the mapping φ which associates with x∈U the value ⟨f,ηx⟩ belongs to D(U) and satisfies
⟨f⊗g,η⟩=⟨f,φ⟩
