Théories spectrales, chapter IV, § 4. Opérateurs partiels

Let E and F be topological vector spaces over K. A partial operator uu of E into F is closable if and only if the closure of the graph Γu\Gamma_u of uu in E×FE\times F is a functional graph. There then exists a unique partial operator vv of E into F whose graph is Γ‾u\overline{\Gamma}_u, and it is the smallest closed extension of uu.

If the closure of the graph of uu in E×FE\times F is a functional graph, it is the graph of a partial operator, and this is a closed extension of uu, so that uu is closable. Conversely, suppose that u⊂wu\subset w with ww closed. The closure Γ‾u\overline{\Gamma}_u of the graph of uu in E×FE\times F is contained in Γw\Gamma_w, hence Γu\Gamma_u is a functional graph.

The last assertion follows from the fact that if ww is a closed extension of uu, then the graph of ww contains Γ‾u\overline{\Gamma}_u.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
