Théories spectrales, chapter IV, § 4. Opérateurs partiels

Let uu be a symmetric partial operator on E. If the partial operator uu induces a bijective linear mapping of dom(uu) onto E, then uu is self-adjoint.

In fact, the inverse partial operator u−1u^{-1} of uu is symmetric with domain E (prop. 9), hence u−1u^{-1} is a self-adjoint element of L(E)\mathscr{L}(E) (prop. 10), and uu is therefore hermitian (prop. 9).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
