Théories spectrales, chapter IV, § 4. Opérateurs partiels

Let E be a real Hilbert space. Let uu be a closed symmetric operator on E. The partial operator u(C)u_{(\mathbf{C})} on E(C)E_{(\mathbf{C})} is symmetric and closed, and admits at least one self-adjoint extension.

The partial operator u(C)u_{(\mathbf{C})} is closed and symmetric by prop. 2 of IV, p. 228 and lemma 3 of IV, p. 239. The R\mathbf{R}-linear isomorphism jj of E(C)E_{(\mathbf{C})} onto E(C)E_{(\mathbf{C})} such that j(z⊗x)=z‾⊗xj(z\otimes x) =\overline{z}\otimes x for every z∈Cz\in \mathbf{C} and every x∈Ex\in E induces an isomorphism of Hilbert spaces of Ker(u(C)∗−iu^*_{(\mathbf{C})}-i) onto Ker(u(C)∗+iu^*_{(\mathbf{C})}+i), and one can apply corollary 1.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
