Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 1. Représentations unitaires

Let ϱ\varrho be a unitary representation of a topological group G in a Hilbert space E. One says that ϱ\varrho is semisimple if there exists a family (Fi)i∈I(F_i)_{i\in I} of irreducible subrepresentations of ϱ\varrho such that E is the Hilbert sum of the subspaces FiF_i.

One sometimes also says that a semisimple unitary representation admits a discrete decomposition or is discretely decomposable.

If (ϱi)i∈I(\varrho_i)_{i\in I} is a family of semisimple unitary representations of a topological group G, then the Hilbert sum of the representations ϱi\varrho_i is semisimple.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
